As every body and circumstance is different, we’re unable to offer medical advice and would always encourage you to speak with your doctor before introducing new products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Please note, our Marine Night Cream contains retinol and is not suitable for use during pregnancy or on children. Other ingredients you may wish to discuss with your doctor include seaweed extracts, which are naturally rich in iodine, and essential oils. While these ingredients can offer beneficial properties for the skin, their suitability can vary from person to person, particularly those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
We aim to ship orders within 3 business days, but this timeframe may increase during busy periods. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a tracking confirmation via email. For further support, please contact our Customer Care team at customercare@dulcie.world
Unopened, unused products can be returned within 14 days of receipt. The product must be in its original saleable condition. Please visit our 'deliveries & returns' page for more information.
We offer refills of select products in our Community Hubs in Margate and London.
We are happy to fill any container, not just our packaging, but please be sure to bring clean, dry containers into our stores for your refills. If old product is left in your container from a previous batch, there is a risk that this could affect the product's efficacy or safe usage period. Using dry, clean containers is a vital part of making sure the product you go home with is fresh and effective.
If you can't make it to one of our stores, we also sell refill pouches online, here.
Questions about our rename
In 2024, we made the bold move to strip away our name and operate as Formerly Known as Haeckels due to the connotations associated with our namesake, Ernst Haeckel and his scientific racism. We could no longer align with a man whose beliefs were so diametrically opposed to ours and we had to do the right thing. Knowledge obligates action.
Each step of our rebrand has brought with it a range of beneficial changes for our environmental impact. Our most recent rebrand, where we decided to operate without a name, saw us change 86% of our packaging to Vivomer, which is 100% compostable, remove outer packaging and gift anything bearing our old name to charities in the Kent area. We are committed to doing no harm to the planet and leaving things in the same condition as we found it.
For our recent rename, we are using all existing packaging before switching over to 'Dulcie' branded packaging. This will be a gradual change in order to reduce waste. You may notice small compostable 'Dulcie' stickers on yoru packing during this period.
The catalyst for everything started during the time Dom’s wife was pregnant with their first child. It was when Dom decided to clean beaches out of his own volition, why he switched jobs and why he became intent on trying to protect his new child and the world in which they’d grow up.
And so as we navigate this next christening of our company as Dulcie, we should give some context as to why this name was chosen.
Dulcie comes from the Latin dulcis meaning sweet or sweetness, it’s also the name of Dom’s daughter (and she has, of course, let us know that she’s cool with us naming a company after her) there’s also a species of seaweed called dulse which gives a nod to our botanical core.
Change is a process. You’ll start to see Dulcie appear on packaging, online, in stores, and in communications gradually.
We’ve chosen this slower pace intentionally. It allows us to use existing materials thoughtfully, reduce waste, and give our team the space to adapt without pressure. Gradual change is a small but meaningful act of sustainability.
We produce our products in small batches at our HQ in Margate to ensure that every item is fresh, high-quality, and made with care. We will be using existing packaging thoughtfully to reduce waste and support sustainability. Gradual change means some products will still show the previous design, but every item meets the same standards as they always have.
You may notice 'Dulcie' stickers on some of your products as we ease into this new identity. These stickers are vegan, compostable and made from wood pulp.
Yes, your account, points, and history remain exactly as they are. Our core business is still the same, we've just changed the name.
Any active gift cards can still be used toward product online, in store, or towards treatments at our Margate spa until the expiry date.
Active subscriptions will continue as usual. You might notice the name “Dulcie” on your invoice or bank statements in the future (that’s us). The formulas, care, and people behind them are unchanged.
This is a name change only. Our ownership, team, products and commitments remain exactly as they were, just under the new name.
Yes, over time, all communications and documentation will feature Dulcie. During the transition, some emails or receipts may still display previous packaging designs, but everything is valid, fresh, and fully supported.
